AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF HATTIESBURG, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONTRIBUTE ANNUALLY AN AMOUNT OF MONEY NOT TO EXCEED $24,000.00 PER CALENDAR YEAR TO THE HATTIESBURG DOWNTOWN ASSOCIATION, INC.; TO PROVIDE A REPEALER DATE OF JULY 1, 2001; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) The governing authorities of the City of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, are authorized, in their discretion, to contribute annually an amount not to exceed Twenty-four Thousand Dollars ($24,000.00) per calendar year, from any available funds, to the Hattiesburg Downtown Association, Inc.
(2) The provisions of this section shall be repealed from and after July 1, 2001.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
